Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is such an intensely weird and charming game, and its soundtrack is really a hidden gem. I think I probably started out 10 different covers before landing on this one because there's too many tracks to choose from. And who knows, I might still make another album of just Goemon covers.

The really intriguing thing about this song is that you only hear this song once in the game. It's the theme for the starting area, Oedo Town. But once you leave the town the first time and come back, it has a different theme that acts as a motif throughout the rest of the game. Huh.

But it's real cute and catchy and a nice break in pace from the rest of the album.
